Kenneth L. Wells, age 82, was born on September 8th , 1931 to Herman and Agnes Wellsin of Oneonta, NY. Resident of Covington, KY formerly of Oneonta, NY. Passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the Madonna Manor, Villa Hills, KY.

As a young man Ken dabbled in photography, carving small animals and playing the trombone. Became an avid woodworker, building cabinetry and furniture for he and his wife's house and local church. Scraps from carpentry did not go to waste. Combining scraps of pine to create the large blocks from which he began carving animals. Created a scale model of the Oneonta First United Presbyterian Church and a large doll house modeled after his son's home in Kentucky. He was quoted "When looking at a block of wood, I can invision the animal hiding within, just as Michlangelo famously said " Every block of stone has a statue inside it and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it" " As of May 23, 2014 The Wood Carvings of Kenneth Wells is being presented at the Thomas More College-Eva G. Farris Gallery, Crestview Hills, KY. Alumus of Oneonta High School and Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY. An Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict . Member of: First United Presbyterian Church, Oneonta, NY, Oneonta Chamber of Commerce. Attended First Christian Church-Panorama Apartments Church, Covington, KY.

SERVICES 2:00PM Saturday, June 7th at the Allison & Rose Funeral Home, Robbins Street and Madison Avenue, Covington, KY. INTERMENT Veterans' Cemetery North, Williamstown, KY. VISITATION 1PM until hour of service Saturday at the funeral home. MEMORIALS, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the First Christian Church, 14 West 5th Street, Covington, KY 41011. Preceeded in death by his: parents and brother Richard Wells.

He is survived by his: beloved wife of 62 years Nila Leonard Wells; sons-Jack (Loresi) Wells, Park Hills, KY and Glenn (Leah) Wells Olympia, WA; 6-grandchildren; 3-great grandchildren; sisters-Beth (Ed) Schultis, Schenebos, NY, Kay Willis, Pine Knoll, NC, several nephews and nieces.
